Film Grants
Coast Film Foundation is committed to supporting documentary filmmakers in telling stories that support our mission to entertain, educate, and inspire audiences and influence positive social and environmental change.
Film grants are essential for supporting independent filmmakers, providing them with the resources to create impactful stories that might not otherwise be produced. We are so stoked to announce our Film Grant program in 2024! Check out our current projects below and learn how you can get involved and support.
Current Film Grant Projects
The Ecology Center Documentary
Our first film grant has been awarded to Dana Frankoff of Turning Tides Films for the making of The Ecology Center Documentary.
In collaboration with The Ecology Center and other partners, we are raising the necessary funds to complete the project with a goal of $25,000.
The Ecology Center is a 28-acre regenerative farm and education center started by surfer, Evan Marks, in order to protect the ocean from land runoff. This is the story about the people who help build and nurture the farm daily and the importance of getting back to how our ancestors took care of the land.
Purple Mountains - Live Free or Die
CFF’s second film grant project, Purple Mountains - Live Free or Die, directed by Josh "Bones" Murphy, winner of the MacGillavry Freeman Environmental Filmmaker award, and features professional snowboarder, climate activist, and founder of Protect Our Winters, Jeremy Jones. It’s is an important story about finding unity around issues of the environment and climate, and coming together to make a positive impact.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 in donations from partners and members which will go directly to support this project.
