SAVE THE DATE!

November 9-17, 2024

The Coast Film & Music Festival is an annual showcase of adventure and documentary films and stories from the mountains to the sea, curated to entertain, inform, and inspire. Held every November in Laguna Beach, California, the festival brings together a community of creators, change makers, and fans to celebrate adventure, the human spirit, conservation, and the art of story.

Our passion for film, culture, and the outdoors inspired us to launch the Coast Film Festival in 2019, with a mission to showcase outstanding films that inform and encourage positive change.

Our goal is to make a positive impact, locally and globally, using the power of film and storytelling. We believe that great films can change the world and the good ones should be recognized and shared. Our programming includes a mix of films, speaker panels, music, art and outdoor experiences that connect with our audience in a way that leaves them entertained, informed and inspired.

Whether you're an avid adventurer, filmmaker, a fan or simply someone who wants to have a good time, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable experience that will inspire you to take action and make a positive impact on the world around you.

FILM GRANTS

The Coast Film Foundation and The Ecology Center are collaborating to raise funds for the completion of a documentary about The Ecology Center. This film, which began production in 2020, captures the journey and impact of The Ecology Center, and has been a labor of love for filmmaker Dana Frankoff since she first connected with Evan Marks at the Coast Film Festival.

A WORD FROM GREG MACGILLIVRAY

greg macgillivary award winning documentary filmmaker

“Over the years, I’ve been to at least 100 notable film festivals, but I never had as warm a feeling for the operation, the guests, or the film selection as I have with the past two years of the Coast Film Festival. Its concentration on radical and sane activities in nature makes my heart sing. But what is most hopeful and encouraging is the way the festival attracts families, fathers, and mothers with their young kids, each exploring nature’s beauty and opportunities. Linked to the outdoor expression of art, in November at the Laguna Art Museum‘s art & nature display, the film festival makes November now my favorite time of the year. It’s one of the five best film festivals in the world.”

Greg MacGillivray, award-winning documentary filmmaker, and co-founder of MacGillivray Freeman Films
