Overview

EXTENDED PLAY takes a journalistic dive into the intersection of skateboarding and music, offering rare access to both Isaac Brock, frontman of Modest Mouse, and the skaters who’ve featured his music in their video segments. Through a cinéma vérité tour of Isaac’s Oregon studio, The Ice Cream Party, we gain intimate insights into his creative process, along with reflections from skaters like Tony Hawk, Stefan Janoski, Jon West, Ed Templeton, and more. As Jon West puts it, “The music was the outline to the video, and that was dictating what was happening. It almost felt like the music was more important.” Tony Hawk adds, “It’s philosophy set to music, set to good music.”
