Celebrating World Art Day: Honoring the Artists Behind Coast Film & Music Festival's Iconic Posters and Film Awards
In celebration of World Art Day on April 15, 2025, Coast Film & Music Festival (CFMF) pays tribute to the talented artists who have visually captured the spirit of our festival over the years. Each poster, a unique blend of creativity and passion, reflects the essence of outdoor adventure, environmental stewardship, and community connection that CFMF stands for.
In 2024, we had the privilege of working with Mark Cunningham, a world-champion bodysurfer, lifeguard, relic hunter, and artist, for our film awards. Check out the behind-the-scenes of the craftsmanship and creativity of our one-of-a-kind trophies.
As we look forward to unveiling the 2025 poster, we remain grateful for the artists who have contributed their vision to CFMF. Their artwork not only promotes the festival but also encapsulates the stories, adventures, and environmental messages we aim to share.
Matt Allen (2020)
Southern California-based artist Matt Allen, known for his surf-inspired illustrations and hand-drawn typography, crafted the 2020 CFMF poster. His work, deeply rooted in surf culture, brings a nostalgic yet contemporary feel, perfectly encapsulating the festival's coastal and adventurous spirit.
Chris Benchetler (2021)
Professional skier and artist Chris Benchetler brought his mountain experiences to life in the 2021 poster. His art, characterized by fluid lines and natural themes, mirrors the harmony between humans and nature, resonating with CFMF's mission to inspire environmental consciousness.
Andy Davis (2022)
Dubbed "the best surf artist of our generation," Andy Davis's 2022 poster showcased his signature minimalistic and vibrant style. His depiction of surf culture and the laid-back Southern California lifestyle aligns seamlessly with the festival's roots in Laguna Beach.
